SUMMARY

Work with Cherokee Federal (CFED) growth & performance to define reporting needs and design, test, and produce financial related reports. Compile and analyze key performance indicators and various other financial reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:
  • Imports, converts, extracts, and compiles data and documents from existing and new applications.
  • Analyzes compiled data for accuracy and produces consolidated reports in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and investigates trends in data, develops and presents metrics, and creates deliverables which communicate findings.
  • Translates and executes reporting requests to accurately meet the informational and deadline needs of the users; presents data in a way which is meaningful, actionable, and readily consumable to users.
  • Develops customized reports from data sources to extract and collect data in support of leadership and business needs; documents and maintains records of created reports and revisions.
  • Tests report writing applications upon upgrades.
  • Provides support to end users on standardized and ad hoc reports.
  • Collaborates with others in growth & performance, CFED and Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) on report configurations, trends and potential opportunities identified through analyses.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, information technology, or other related field, and 7 years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of MS SQL server/DBA/development, SQL clusters or other big data solutions, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in finance/accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge working with databases, spreadsheets, and performance management software, especially Cognos.
  • Advanced knowledge of Costpoint ERP system including the Projects and Planning applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecast, planning, and analysis process and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements.
  • Ability to be proactive rather than reactive execution style.
  • Ability to use creative and critical thought in the development of analyses.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to execute work proactively.
  • Must have the ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a Federal Background check as a condition of employment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.

Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates COVID vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.
