This position is contingent upon contract award and the availability of the position. Candidates selected will receive a contingent offer of employment, which will be finalized only upon the successful award of the contract to Maximus, the availability of the position, and receipt of authorization to proceed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support for cybersecurity operations, effectively executing containment, remediation, and risk reduction activities across enterprise IT and OT environments.
  • Perform advanced escalation-level response actions, coordinating and executing directed cyber initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate containment and restoration efforts during security incidents, ensuring quick resolution and stabilization of affected systems.
  • Thoroughly document all response actions to ensure auditability, traceability, and smooth knowledge transfer across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to implement remediation actions across infrastructure, applications, cloud platforms, and network environments.
  • Assist with vulnerability management and compliance initiatives, including coordination of remediation and alignment with federal cybersecurity standards.
  • Help facilitate incident response workflows, ensuring alignment with established procedures, priorities, and response timelines.
  • Monitor security events and relevant tools, performing advanced triage and escalating or acting on findings as necessary.
  • Contribute to operational reporting and provide insights into performance tracking, risk posture, and security metrics.
  • Support ongoing improvements of cybersecurity processes and operational effectiveness through feedback and analysis of response activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven ability to document actions and maintain audit-ready records and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Experience in supporting cross-platform environments, including cloud, infrastructure, and network systems.
  • Familiarity with security monitoring tools, incident tracking systems, and escalation procedures.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a 24/7 environment with urgent response requirements.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust is required; an active Public Trust and/or DHS suitability is preferred. Must be a U.S. Citizen without dual citizenship.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or enterprise security support roles.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting large-scale cybersecurity operations environments.
  • Familiarity with incident response coordination and escalation procedures.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working across hybrid environments (cloud, infrastructure, network).
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills essential for audit and compliance support.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
