Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments, documenting findings related to breath sounds and airway patency.
- Administering vital respiratory care therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol medications.
- Assisting in the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation for patients.
- Monitoring and responding to patient therapeutic responses, ensuring swift intervention as necessary.
- Supporting the transportation of patients requiring ventilator assistance.
- Responding to emergency situations with expertise to maintain airway integrity.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Associate Degree in a relevant field.
- State licensure as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
