Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Respiratory Therapist, your role is to provide essential cardiopulmonary care services as directed by physician orders and in accordance with departmental policies. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Administering therapy and monitoring patient responses in both routine and intensive care settings.
- Utilizing oxygen and therapeutic gas equipment such as masks and incubators.
- Administering prescribed medicinal gases and aerosol treatments.
- Conducting diagnostics, including measuring ventilatory volumes, pressures, and blood gas analysis.
- Monitoring and documenting patient conditions and responses to treatments.
- Setting up, operating, and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 1 year of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- PALS certification within 1 year of employment.
- Associate Degree in a related field.
- Certification as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT-State or NBRC-CRT) or Respiratory Practitioner (RRT/RCP-State).
