The purpose of the Payroll Coordinator is to assist the accounting department in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and various accounting and clerical tasks.

Salary range: $50,000- $65,000 annually

Tasks
  • Full cycle of payroll
  • Ensure timesheets are entered accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage payroll completion reports including payroll summary, labor distribution reports, and timesheets
  • Maintain communication with controller on any payroll issues
  • Process payroll manually
  • Understanding of government taxes and garnishments
  • Ensure wages and tax withholds comply with regulations
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Documenting and updating procedures
  • Manage payroll completion reports including payroll summary, labor distribution report, and timesheets
  • Maintain communication with Controller on any payroll issues
  • File all payroll items and reports on a weekly basis
  • Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays
  • Answer employees questions about payroll
  • Implements ,maintains, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing
Skills & Abilities
  • Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Business Software Knowledge of business software including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access; Internet browsing to find information
  • Accounting Basic knowledge of accounting process and principles
  • Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Time Management Managing one's own time
  • Problem Solving Uses critical thinking to find solutions for problems
  • Detail Oriented Catches mistakes and corrects them before others do
  • Self-Starter able to work with little supervision/direction in a demanding environment
  • Organized keep an easy to follow filing system (both electronically and hard copy)
  • Service Orientation Actively looking for ways to help people
  • Ethical conduct Conduct ones self in an ethical and responsible manner
Education & Experience
  • Associates degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Training or experience in computer applications
