Job Summary and Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds and airway evaluations.
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery and aerosol medications.
- Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient responses and intervene as needed.
- Facilitate the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergency situations, ensuring airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification required within 6 months.
- STABLE certification required within 6 months.
- State Certified Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner, or Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials are essential.
