The office-based Outpatient Therapist provides behavioral health counseling services to children and families through services delivered on site in the agency's offices. These services include individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling and crisis intervention. The Outpatient Therapist meets established standards for case documentation and for billable service hours per year (productivity).

Duties Include:

  • Conduct individual and small group counseling
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to establish appropriate treatment goals and objectives for clients
  • Plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans
  • Create case notes in the electronic health record per current standards for content and timeliness
  • Participate in clinical and administrative supervision as required
  • Provide an atmosphere of trust, welcome, acceptance and hope for all clients
  • Show respect for cultural differences, beliefs and values; integrates information related to cultural traditions and values into treatment
  • Provide guidance to facilitate clients' normal growth and development, and aid in their understanding and solving of current and potential problems
  • Demonstrate appropriate de-escalation skills
  • Display knowledge of community resources and provides referrals as needed

Requirements:

  • State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Board licensure as LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT with master's degree
  • Experience providing therapy to children and families preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of effective behavioral intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to both work independently and also collaborate with a team
  • Flexibility, creativity, ability to manage stress
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software; ability to learn and use electronic health record and other systems
