Chemical Compliance Specialist

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Conduct waste pickups at laboratories as required.
• Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and notifications for land disposal restrictions.
• Identify unknown laboratory chemicals encountered during inspections.
• Perform thorough inspections of staging, accumulation, and storage areas to ensure adherence to proper housekeeping and compliance standards.
• Check storage areas for any leaks or spills.
• Examine drums to ensure compliance with labeling regulations.
• Collect, segregate, and package waste chemicals for disposal, maximizing efficiency while maintaining compliance.
• Evaluate specialty waste materials, such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds, and determine the best disposal options.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively.
• College education or completion of coursework in Biology or Chemistry.
• Valid Driver's License.
